Theory and history of Arts

Hi!

I study Theory and history of arts and I would like to change some aspects of this career because it is a bachelors degree, so the length of studies it is for 4 years. I would like to have in the future a professional degree and study one year more here. This problem has been debated by my teachers many times, and it has no solution yet, because it involve an important change in the career.

The subjects in this career are in general about art in Latin America which it is obvious because we are in Chile but we study too much European art and we never see Asian and African art, so I would like to learn more about the things produced in this continents. In the other hand, we have many subjects about aesthetics and it is a very productive classes because study the theory behind the arts. 

What about the faculty facilities? well... we are in Las Encinas so this place it is very precarious in many aspects, like the infrastructure, for example the cafeteria has no roof, in replace of that we can see a mesh net, and this building it is old literally we have an asbestos roofs, which cause cancer, it is worrying. At least we have a beautiful forest, we call this place  El verde bosque. The use of technology, we have macs in  the english room, so I can not demand.

I will be an art conservator some day

I would like to work at a museum in the future, specifically in a restauration area because I think it is a very important for the preservation of the cultural patrimony. I imagine this work like a  challenging job with a lot demand, I expect to do this in Chile. T he skills that I will need in this job it is manual precision and finesse and how to know to work with more people, in teams. I think here in this country I can not pursue to gain lots of money, because it is part of the cultural area and it is not valued well, that is so sad, honestly. So I think my future salary will be normal, I hope that will be not low, because I spend money in silly and useless things. My decisitions are not clear yet, I´m a libra

I would like to study after I finish Theory and history of Arts, because this career it is a degree in arts, so you must to  keep studying and adding new things in your curriculum.  I think I would like to study an archeology master or something like that. Also I am thinking of take a restauration master because I would love to work as an art conservator in a future. I have no idea which one to choose yet. I am a libra so I can not take decisitions, it is so stressful, Well, related to  the subjects, I have no knowledge because I do not know where I will study. I would like to study outside of Chile, I think it will be a great opportunity for me because I will know about different contexts and I want to live this experience. I hope I can do this in Peru or Mexico if my master it is about archeology, and if it is a restauration master I would like to do this in Spain because I have family in this country and they told me about differents cities like Salamanca or Valencia a...

I really want to go to Scotland

I would like to go to many countries in different locations like Mexico or Colombia but I would love to go to Scotland, because I saw a series called Outlander, and since then I was obsessed with the culture, the people, the landscapes and the history of this country looks very interesting to me, because they had multiple wars with England, I like to read about the Culloden battle and the life style of the highlanders, and the oppression they suffered during centuries, they could not wore kilts and spoke their language. That sounds terrible. I would not like to live there because I would miss my country and I like to live here, in Chile, but I would like to stay in Scotland for a long time because I like being a tourist and know new things and learn about different contexts, I would like to visit many museums and historical places, and go to cities like the capital of this country, Edimburgh and towns like Inverness and doing this tour on a train.
